Full NMC for Skinner unfortunately. Only way he leaves Buffalo is via buyout. But if he didn't? I would do that in a heartbeat to get out of his cap hit.

Landeskog is on track to return, but even in the worst case scenario where he can't, an expensive winger isn't going to be atop their wish list. No offense to the player. Colorado is just not the right fit.</div></div>
I hadn't seen anything on him returning so assumed he wasn't tracking back. It's def the least likely scenario, but didn't know if getting a 2C might have them reconsider.

The only player in your list worthwhile is untouchable Carlo who's very unicorn like unavailable</div></div>
First, Yes,, he does have a full NMC, but again, the guy might want to actually play a playoff game or have a chance to win. Hence why I focused on teams that are playoff teams/cup contenders or teams that should be in the playoffs.
Second, He's 9M for 3 more years, unless we retain. Erik Karlsson at 4 more years at 11.5 was also "unmovable". Bringing down Skinner's hit a couple million to be more reasonable number for his skills could make him more appealing to other teams.
Third, "Buffalo icon" that has been on the team for half of the team's playoff drought. Ryan Reaves is a great dressing room guy too, I bet Toronto is glad they signed him for 3 years at over 1.25M to be a dressing room guy.

I’m not sure I view Skinner at 7 mill for the next 3 years as a positive at ages 32, 33, 34.
So then it’s if UPL on his contract will provide more value than Marino.</div></div>
My guess is around a Samsonov/Vanecek type of ~3.5 to 3.8M AAV. Send Vanacek back to Buffalo to pair with Levi for a year for a big cost is also an option.

Canes Deadline
Morrow and futures don't appeal to Buffalo, they need a roster player (Pesce please, with a new extension). But that's not happening at the deadline, so Sabres pass.

The offseason that doesnt change as much as we want
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabres89</b></div><div>If you're suggesting that adams is guilty of half measures, I'm in full agreement.</div></div>
The title of my post here says it all. "The offseason that doesn't change as much as we want". The fact that Adams had a press conference to clarify regarding "shopping" Mittlestadt was due to what was said on After the Whistle (by Andrew Peters) says it all to me. Adams wants the appearance of being in full control and the puppet master when he has inherited a top prospect pool and multiple 1st round picks, and the only moves that have been made are to bring in players with a connection to the head coach (Clifton, Greenway both were part of the USNTDP) and Erik Johnson was the "veteran to bring leadership and help Okposo and Girgensons". Once Donny is fired, going to be real awkward for the new coach because of how many of "Donny's guys" are here.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>Laughton is atrocious and it's an idea that should be buried away</div></div>
I agree on both accounts that Laughton is bad. That's why I said "reputation of defensive and physical" because he's been bad, but this is the type of move that Adams would make to "make the fans happy" and "Get a new style of player onto the team" so when it doesn't work, they can say "I told you so".

Sell High On Mitts
I'm a Sabres fan, but neither of these work.
1) the Captain of the NYR with a 12-15 team NTC isn't going to be traded for a much worse RHD and a 3rd/4th liner, let alone at 50% retained.
2) Mitts is likely not getting moved. Not because he doesn't have value, but the teams that could use him aren't going to trade the assets that Buffalo needs. Sabres don't need more prospects or picks, they need NHL caliber players, and playoff teams aren't trading NHL caliber players in the middle of their runs. Byram is signed on a bridge, as a LHD, not happening. If Gulyayev is available, MAYBE sabres bite, but doubtful.
3) Stevenson could easily get a 6x6, if not more
Nothing here is realistic.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Eichel has a more expensive contract, wasn't going to play in Buffalo anymore and requested a trade. None of those apply to Connor and the Jets don't want to trade him. So, you need to give them a reason to do it.</div></div>
Eichel is a center, which typically gets paid more than wingers and I'm assuming a Jets rebuild in this. Dubois just requested a trade, Wheeler, Hellebuyck, Scheifele all entering last years of their deals, so that's not too far fetched to assume. Jets don't want to or don't have to trade him, but Kyle Connor is the only one who doesn't have trade protection and is signed for 3 more years, so they can get the most for him.

Fair. Hellebuyck is such a good goalie but its his next contract that makes me not want sabres to get him.
Genuine question, does Kyle Connor have more value than Eichel? Saying that a 1st, 2nd, roster player who had around 60 points, and a top prospect isn't getting him is about the same as Tuch/Krebs/1st/2nd, and the 1st rounder is 13 overall in a deep draft whereas Vegas' was 16th (which funny enough was Ostlund)

STL just looked like a team that could use another goalie after Hofer lost to Latvia (joking). Comrie can go to any team or can easily bury his last year in the AHL.

would changing Krebs for Mittlestadt make it better or worse for WPG? Mittlestadt did have 59 points this year as a 3rd line C, but obv Krebs much younger/more control

Deal. People seem to think he has relatively high value because he scored over 20 the last 2 seasons and like 28 this past year, but he's a one trick pony.
