Sens definitely don't need to lock into a guy like Rackell, who'd be a 3rd liner, for that term or cap hit. Easy pass

Full NMC for Skinner unfortunately. Only way he leaves Buffalo is via buyout. But if he didn't? I would do that in a heartbeat to get out of his cap hit.

50% retained on Rakell and we'd be interested.

Rakell isn't a bad player but is definitely not worth nearly as much money as he's being paid. You'll have a very hard time moving that contract even if Pittsburgh were to retain, which would be a tough pill to swallow.

In all honesty the Pens might be stuck with him if theyre not willing to view him like a cap dump.

He'd have to approve the buyout too. You would absolutely not want to do that trade as is

Why do you think Skinner would block?

Because he got a NMC for a reason and the Penguins team are likely LESS of a threat to make the playoffs than the Sabres.

Why are you blowing away Graves only a year into his signing? That's not a good sell.

The NMC is more so that he can control where he goes, not a dying need to stay in Buffalo. The Sabres have not made the playoffs in 13 years, it's not a given they will make the playoffs until they actually do. The Sabres are looking to hire more of a hard ass as a coach this time around which does not really match with Skinners game/personality so he may be looking for a way out. He would get the play with Crosby in Pitt.
