Haha ya right retain on Kadri for another 5 years after this one. Would rather keep Kadri anyways.

Tavares is the reason Toronto doesn't have a cup, I don't think he has Flames pajamas you can keep him.

Kadri has been the better player this year and has been the best C on the team while playing with two rookies. You're either paying the 1st or Minten for 5 years of retention then the other of the two to get $11M off your books because Calgary has no need for Tavares at this point. So you're left with Tanev for a 5th. It doesn't make sense as a fit for Calgary and it's not enough value for Calgary to take on the financial burden.

not sure how this is fair for the flames at all, we see tavares as a cap dump and we're not helping you pay out a contract of our best forward for 6 years. this trade is horrendous

Kadri to the Leafs makes no sense.
Calgary has no interest in Tavares.
