What would this cost realistically

Description
Keep the snotty nasty comments to yourselves I am trying to have an actual discussion

Norris has fallen out of favor with OTT and $8M for a reclamation project is beyond steep. You know what youre getting with Pageau, OTT is interested, yet he is also not worth his contract.

OTT left Pinto unsigned/he held out all offseason until the suspension so I am sure there is some bad blood there as well.

If an OTT/NYI trade happens it is almost guaranteed to include Pageau (OTT wants 'professionals' and they were linked this offseason for DeBrincat) so what would the Package for each of these two players be?

Probably quite a bit. Islanders prospect pool is pretty horrid so that might be tough

They seemingly really like Pageau if they even considered moving Debrincat for him+ granted that was before Pageau's lackluster year this year

From what I understand the Sens are trying to be a playoff team next year so Idk if they are super interested in long-term futures vs help in the next 1-2 years

Norris isnt going anywhere, especially for that weak package. Pageau is a salary dump at this point (Isles got fleeced in that deal).

Even Pinto would garner more than a mid 1st round pick.

just so you know, Norris got injured again last night. Also, I doubt there is any bad blood between OTT and Pinto. Go watch his media availibility's when he came back and you can see he was taking the accountability for the situation and seemed very mature and just grateful to get a 2nd chance. I'm pretty sure the Sens knew Pinto was being investigated over the summer and that's why he wasn't signed. Even if there was 'bad blood,' it's a new management group now and Staios and company value Pinto as a key piece moving forwards.

I am interested in a Pageau reunion but there would need to be retention. What would the cost be for Pageau with 1.5M retention???

Cheers

Ah ok atleast Pinto and management got that ironed out, kid looks like he is gonna be good for a long time

We are kinda in cap hell so we really cant afford to retain unless we used a 3rd team like CHI or PHI for the retention

If Ottawa is trying to compete and make the playoffs next year, I don’t think going from Norris to JGP really helps except cap relief

The islanders want to upgrade but they don’t really have cap or assets to really do so

Norris’ value is very hard to work out. a very talented goal scorer who has very obvious injury troubles. there’s no doubt that his trade value doesn’t line up with his actual abilities. but also the premise that there’s bad blood between Pinto and Sens management is simply and plainly untrue. if anything, the relationship there is stronger for how the organization supported him before, during, and after the suspension
