If the Leafs have the cap space....they do, rather have Fehr as their 5th centre than AHLer Smith.

nobody cares about a "5th center"

There are 8 other guys on the roster who can play center

There are 8 other guys on the roster who can play center

A lot of people would care if smith was in the lineup regardless of who's the 4C

I agree it's highly unlikely he signs in Toronto. as for the $ maybe he takes less the longer he goes unsigned

Well when one of your top 4 centres gets injured , then the Leafs would care who is 5th centre. There aren't eight guys that can take the place as an NHL centre. But if you just read what is the on the depth profile, I assume a the uninformed would believe it.
