Dunno, seems as if both Andersson and Reilly play offensive leaning games. I could be wrong, and I’m sure I’ll be corrected.

    Not anywhere enough IMO.

Andersson is only in his mid to late 20s. I think it would take an overpay to get him out of CGY, and the above definitely isn't that. In fact, I don't believe the Leafs have the assets for Andersson.

Andersson is a solid defensive player and Rielly isn't anywhere near as bad as some are saying when it comes to defense.

Obviously this isn't enough for Andersson but yeah Rielly isn't dreadful defensively, just better offensively

    Correct.

He's 4,5 stars in terms of offense and 3 stars in terms of defense.

Just on the top of my head, I can think of over 20 defensmen who I think are worst at defense than Mo.

I’ll be the first to admit that I do not watch every single Flames game, but the ones I do…RA strikes me as a pressuring offensive leaning player and puck mover. Reilly seems the same to me - which is why I made that point.

If the leafs are really trying to find a compliment to Reilly, I wonder if RA is the right player.

Well, as for Andersson, he's not even the highest scoring defender in CGY. That man is Weegar.

As for the ideal partner for Rielly, I'm not 100% sure to who that would correspond in today's NHL but I believe someone like late 2010s Matt Niskanen would be ideal.

Points don’t always equate to offensive defenseman. What I’m saying is that what both players do well may be the same thing. Do you want Reilly to focus on defense?

Have the leafs played Lilly (when healthy) with Reilly? Seems to be a good fit to me.

There are many compliments to players like Reilly, they just aren’t available.

agreed. he just needs a good partner to play with. Brodie had been solid the past couple years but has taken a step back. Anderson would be the #1 option currently

Toronto should jump on Matt Roy if he becomes available as a UFA
