Im not as down on Severson as some in the Jackets' fanbase, but i would do this. He was Jarmo's attempt at addressing out defensive issues, but since hes gone id be down for clearing him out and let the new GM figure out his plan for the defense. Worst case we roll with Boqvist, Jiricek, and Gudbranson which i would be fine with. He would have to waive his NTC though.

Leafs or no team should have a desire for soon to 30 years of Severson for seven full seasons.

Tampa Bay easily declines. No chance they include Schmidt in a trade for Brodie. If the Leafs can get a 2nd for Brodie without retaining, they should jump for joy. I'm not even sure Tampa gives up the 2bd for Brodie, but that would be the max.

Hawks probably accept though. But Crevier is nowhere near ready to play on the 3rd pair of a playoff team.

Leafs are nothing like a playoff team, so no worries there
