If the Flyers can get out of Petersen and get Campbell’s contract paid down, less than $2M to back up Ersson ain’t bad. Campbell has done better than Sandstrom and Petersen at the AHL level this season so why not?

If the Flyers land the three players and move out Petersen, I’d be willing to forego the draft pick, if it came down to it.

The biggest hurdle is the compensation to Arizona. Doesn’t necessarily HAVE to be Arizona. Just looking for a team to weaponize cap space. I could even see the Flyers take on Ceci to ensure a draft pick from Edmonton and lessen the draft pick(s) to a third team to make it work.

Just a thought.

whatever third team going to want way more than 3rd + 5th + 30yo D for 1 year to retain 3 for years
BTW AZ is no way going to leave only 1 slot for 3 years, and couple middle picks for a team with a million doesnt move the needle

Devils got a 4th and Canes got a 6th. Obviously is salary retention based. A 3rd AND a 5th seems about right. As I said, I could also see the Flyers keeping Ceci just to make money work.

Doesn’t necessarily HAVE to be Arizona. They have cap space and have been known to weaponize cap space.

Hence the need to tweak.

retaining for couple months is not the same as retaining for 3+ years
