Valuation probably is light across the board, but I’m curious how much more people think would need to be added to each trade.

Idk, man... All these contenders seem to be conspiring together. I would've thought Tanev would cost a 1st long before Henrique, and I would've thought retention would cost a lot more under this flat cap, but here we are. The same teams that, when they were rebuilding and had all the cap space, charged an arm and a leg for depth players, retention, and cap dumps, are now actively trying to drive those prices down to suit their needs. I'm starting to think a lot of people are going to be very disappointed with the returns at this years deadline and beyond. Which sucks, because I am a CHI fan that was also hoping to capitalize on the needs of cap strapped teams.

See Lindholm and Monahan, there are very aligned comps for him. It’s entirely possible the market shifts, but those 2 went for a 1st plus. We’re adding Henrique plus in this scenario

I saw somewhere they were looking for a 2nd + 3rd, but I don’t disagree, especially considering this deal has retention + carrick. Do you think adding a “prospect” like lavoie to the deal gets closer to proper value?

Sort of. They are both centers, though, and Lindholm is a Selke-type, and they are both significantly younger than Henrique. But, yeah, it's possible. He is having a very good season!

Henrique is a center.. and our best face-off man. Just has the added benefit of also playing very well on the wing

He also plays a very responsible 2-way game. He starts a vast majority of his shifts in the d-zone, still has strong advanced statistics, plays a ton of penalty kill and also power play, blocks shots etc. I think you might not be familiar with who Henrique is, haha. He’s has an even plus/minus on the Anaheim Ducks despite starting like 60% of his shifts in our zone.

They’re younger but all are on expiring contracts anyways. Maybe you prefer one, or even both over him. But I don’t really see a reason to do so with much, if any conviction 🤷‍♂️

    Lindholm: 13-24-38 as a -13 in 62 games
    Monahan: 19-23-42 as a -10 in 59
    Henrique: 17-24-41 as a +0 in 58 games

Oh. Didn't even realize he was playing C for ANA. I thought he was mainly on the wing. I'm not arguing with conviction, though, just playing devils advocate. Plus, I've been pretty disappointed with some of the trades lately. I thought Monahan was an overpay. I even thought Lindholm was a bit of an overpay, but I understood why VAN did it at the time. Although he hasn't been as good in VAN as I expected him to be. Henrique is probably my favorite of the three, but I think age could play a role in his return regardless of them all being pending UFA's and having comparable seasons, thus far. But I also wouldn't be surprised if ANA could get a haul for him. Whatever they get should certainly be better than the proposal in this ACGM.

For sure. If I’m honest I thought both of them were an overpay, and that Henrique would go for a smidge less than them. Start of this year I would’ve said a 2nd. Really just convinced it should be a 1st based on what the market has suggested because imo he’s outplayed both of those guys this year

I think we see pretty eye-to-eye though. Cheers!
