Tampa says no.. even with an extension for Hanifin, and just get rid of the two 2nd rounders, they won't be far enough apart to truly matter in the grand scheme of things, the Lightning won't exchange D-men PLUS one of their only good forward prospects in Howard. On one of the 32 Thoughts podcasts, Friedman and Marek at least were spitballing a Hanifin to Tampa deal and "just (couldn't) see" a fit, as a guy like Howard might be too valuable to their system/future. I haven't researched Howard myself, but I generally trust a guy like Friedman when it comes to the kind of "what is a team willing to do right now" pronouncements.

I agree Tampa won't move Cernak in a Hanifin trade, Howard or Gauthier + a 1st would be more likely.

TB says no to this In order to do a Gauthier or Howard and a first Julien Brisebois is saying good bye to Victor Hedman. Either a trade this off season or next year is his final.
