Kings counter with a 5th round pick and 50% retained on Armia. At very best he plays on the third line till Arvidsson comes back then gets demoted to the fourth line until Grunstrom comes back then he's a healthy scratch the rest of his time with the Kings. So he might get 15-20 games played with the Kings and two years of 3.4m only playing a handful of games is too much for any team to take on so the price will have to be less with retention on his contract if you want to make a trade with the Kings involving Armia.

It would likely have to be a 4th in order to get the retention, but even if you're okay with that the 4th would have to go to a 3rd party.
Montreal would get nothing in return in that scenario (which is fine, it would just be to send him to a better situation) but they aren't using their limited retention spots on a 4th.

Unless MTL is taking back a bad contract they will have to ship him out for Future Considerations if they arent willing to retain on him.

That would be fine too. Montreal simply can't retain but a 3rd party with all their slots and no plans to use them might.
