Overpayment from Van perspective. Jensen isn't a bad defenceman but has had a bad year and Nic Dowd is a good 4th line player those usually don't cost a 1st + Good prospect

Canucks are reluctant to trade their future first-round pick.
How about trading a second-round 2025 pick and Aatu Raty for Nick Jensen and Nic Dowd?

Ya, I struggled beyond a first.

Some benefits I was thinking about from Van are that Dowd would be around a 2nd year when Blueger likely seeks a pay raise.

Jensen steps in with Myers, Cole and Z all expiring. Maybe next year would look like:
Hughes-Hronek
Soucy-Jensen
?-?
One of Z or Cole extend on the left. Myers or Willander on the right. Possibly entirely different than bringing any of those three back.

I think that is about right. Everyone on here forgets about the Goodrow trade. Not saying Dowd will definitely get a 1st but he’s getting more than the 3rd that is often traded for him on here.

Jensen not having the greatest year but think it somewhat has to do with the Caps struggling to create offense as a team. Bottom 3 team in GF/G

I'd rather save that cap space and bring a better version of Jensen in Tanev in. I'd consider Jensen a solid backup plan though rather do a deal in the off season for him rather see if we could LTIR Myers and trade like a 4th for Erik Johnson. Also a a conditional 1st I would hope at the minimum cause if injuries happen next year. I don't want to trade a top 10 pick for Jensen and Dowd that would arguably be worse then the OEL trade

I think this is about what the caps would want value wise to move these guys. Jensen had a bad start to the year and that really brought his numbers down. He’s been much better in the second half. It’s roughly a first and a second round pick in value and that’s totally fine with me personally.
