Another try for a center: Coyle

Description
I like Vesey - but he's a winger and I doubt he'll become a top6 player in NY. Minnesota still has to resign Niederreiter and Granlund and fill their roster, so they'll probably welcome a cheap roster guy. They also have just 1 LD signed and Holden can play second pair minutes in a pinch and third pair minutes okayish. I like Coyles contract.

Coyle would be an ideal target for the rangers. Good contact, and production. I think that's a very fair trade, just not sure how willing Minnesota will be to move him.

This is one of the best 2C trades I've seen for NYR. I love the trade.

Terrible trade for Minny from a roster standpoint.

Suter, Brodin, Olofsson/Reilly (should be fighting for the #6/7D), and Quincey are all LD's that the Wild have. No need for another one.

LHS FWDs on the Wild, all of them at least as good as Vesey (JEE and Ennis are questionable).
Parise
Granlund
Nino
Zucker
Foligino
Ennis
Koivu
Staal
JEE
(Greenway, Kaprizov, Sokolov are all LHS prospects)

Wild's RHS:
Coyle
Stewart-4th liner
Maybe Kunin, but he should be in the AHL

Huh. capfriendly showed Brodin and Qunicey as RD, so there's that. I believe that Vesey is better than Foligno and Holden is better than Quincey (while I'm not too high on Holden).
the handedness of Vesey is a good point; from the Rangers viewpoint they need RH forwards too, so if that's a dealbreaker there might be no deal here.

I'm not a big fan of Quincey either, but he'll probably end up playing bottom pair RD (offhanded) or be the 7th d-man. So not a huge deal when he'll end up getting limited minutes. The Wild are really LHS heavy, only 1 top-9 and 2 top-4 on the roster.

Brodin started out as top pair with Suter but played offhand, it's just never been updated on the site.

Well. I thought you could bait MIN into giving him up by giving up cheap roster players (as NYRs prospects are either untouchable or have no value at all)but that doesn't seem to be the case. what would the actual roster holes be?

I really like this. I think what NYR are giving is good/fair in one sense. I think they also would like to allow more room for cap.

In another sense, MIN is in more of a need for right handed F than NYR right now, so I don't think they do it. And I don't think they have much of a desire for a LHD. But, I really like Coyle.

MAYBE, MIN is more intrigued to do it if Grabner was thrown in? Obviously Grabs had a surprisingly amount of goals last year. Maybe they think he can do it again, for cheaper than Coyle?

All in all I think it's too good to be true. I think NYR could maybe get something done with MIN or STL because they both have so many C.

Coyle would be a good target, but I don't think they'd want Holden with their defense already what it is.

Minny is good at center this year, but not looking to good for the future. JEE and maybe Kunin are the only top-6 potential centers is the organization. Coyle and Granlund aren't more than good 3C's, but are better off as wings. Koivu's contract ends after this season and Staal's the next season, and both of them aren't spring chickens.

Wild have lots of LW's and LD, but lack true centers and RHS everything.

Plus they are cap tight and Coyle is a golden contract that would be hard to give up.
