we basically trade nothing in those trades. we improve the defence and get a player that needs a change of scenary in olofsson.

If they’re not going all in they need to sell

The Perbix Derangement Syndrome is strong here.

They should not go all in, no trades would put us over the top. And why selling? We don't have a first round pick this year or next year. This team is in the worst possible spot right now.

Perbix is not a bad defenseman but, we have so many players that fit a similar role. Myers, Crozier and Raddysh on the right side, Fleury, De Haan and Lilleberg on the left side. Our team is full of depth defenceman and there is no point of keeping them all.

It's not that simple, like I said there is no point in selling. We get nothing from it because we don't have picks. The best thing to do is retool currently. Try to get cap space to improve the roster in free agency. All the trades that I proposed are expiring deals. We don't need to resign them and we don't suck for the rest of the year. I think going conservative is not a bad move because you don't put all your eggs in one basket. You ge to be good enough to make the playoffs and you improve the future by getting more cap space.

All you’re doing is wasting assets, if they’re not getting an impact player then trade stamkos and other ufas

What assets did I waste? A 3rd round pick? We "waste" this to get more cap space. Do you want to be at the cap ceilling and get some terrible free agent signing like Sheary and De Haan again? I agree that we should trade Stamkos but we know that ain't happening. I could see Cernak getting moved before is NTC hit tho.

There’s just no point in adding these guys, and no way should cernak be traded

The point of adding those guys is to fix this year roster a bit. If the player is working well we can also resign him after. We get them for basically Perbix, a 3rd and Lucas Edmonds. This is nothing. Also, I agree that we should not trade Cernak but, it would make sense before he gets is NTC in the summer.

you’re correct but you’re also incorrect. yes we have a long list of depth dmen. perbix, of all of them, deserves to stay over the likes of fleury for sure. lilleberg and crozier need ahl time, de haan and raddysh are both serviceable and phil myers wont ever see a call up to the nhl from tampa ever again. so yeah we got a few depth dmen but id rather we keep our best depth dman if possible

I agree with what you said but money wise, we should trade Perbix. I know his contract is only 1 million per year but it adds up. Trading Sheary (2m), Perbix(1m) + Stamkos resigning for cheaper( Probably around 2.5m cheaper). We also have the cap going up around 4m in the summer. So by trading Perbix we have around 9.5m for free agency. That is enough money to sign a top 4 defenseman + add depth scoring.
