<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Maniaked</b></div><div>For Stamkos sure, the contract could be longer on lower AAV who knows. Fleury is fine as depth. Very cheap and can be useful through injuries. I agree for Dumba, I could have gone lower for sure. Cogliano is for depth. Can play on the pk and he is cheap enough. We don't really have that much AHL guys that could come up on the roster. Marela sure but, he look out of place we he plays this year. Perbix is a sacrifice for at least having a pick in the draft. We don't particularly need him, we have Crozier that looked solid so we good on the right side without him. It was either him our Dumba, I like the new toys so Dumba wins for today lol.</div></div>
yeah i get it. i think personally we could find better depth for fleury and cogliano especially if we’re keeping motte too. merela when he got called back up he looked a lot more improved, but time will tell when those guys are ready to make the jump. right side is logjamed definitely someone will be getting moved this offseason i agree. but stamkos man it’s so hard to predict what he will do. all i know is he’s staying. the team definitely is better today than it was yesterday so hey right now im happy

i’m good with most of it. i don’t think stamkos signs for that much. probably a longer deal with a lower cap hit to be fair he hasn’t been great as of late. haydn fleury can walk. matt dumba i think would be cheaper on a one year deal but who knows. and not sure why we’d need cogliano even though i do like him. i feel like we need more ahl guys like goncalves and merela to play more next year honestly. other than that yeah maybe keep perbix but everything else id do

you’re correct but you’re also incorrect. yes we have a long list of depth dmen. perbix, of all of them, deserves to stay over the likes of fleury for sure. lilleberg and crozier need ahl time, de haan and raddysh are both serviceable and phil myers wont ever see a call up to the nhl from tampa ever again. so yeah we got a few depth dmen but id rather we keep our best depth dman if possible

The Verhaeghe trade is a very minor part of this thread, and doesn't really affect the rest, so it could be removed without much change to the overall team.
Ottawa needs more cap hit, and with the crowded situation among the prospects, especially left handed wingers, Carter Verhaeghe at a sub million contract doesn't help. Ottawa would be better suited making an offer for someone like Jeff Carter, and possibly getting better assets for helping LA with their cap hit.</div></div>
good point there.

tbh hes had back to back down years just in overall play i mean his point totals are fine but like hes regressing and its getting bad i feel like sadly so. still a very fast skater however but so unlucky when trying to score

You know its funny you mention McAvoy, the first year we had him on the team he had a lot of comparisons to McAvoy so yeah that would be probably the most accurate value of Sergachev

If you look at NJD's needs (2nd line RW, a bottom-six big body or two, young d-men) and their cap space, there is probably a deal with TB that suits both sides....but I don't think this is it. I doubt NJD would want to tie up $5 million over the next 4 years on Tyler Johnson, unless it was a means to an end (like it was needed to acquire another TB player).</div></div>
fair enough. i think NJ is about to get their 2RW in the draft if I had to guess, also they will be active this free agency. Johnson likely just goes to Seattle next offseason from somewhere anyways

Yeah but I mean idk its hard to say. Buffalo has a lot of promise and I mean he could be the missing piece but if BUF isnt on his no trade list then yeah i mean its probably likely he goes there but i have no actual idea where he ends up tbh. Buffalo makes the most sense to me and it helps both teams equally. We get cap and you get a top 6 winger with size and can score as well

Good first line tbh. If Olofsson could play 2RW with Killorn*-Staal then your top 6 with Killer and Staal would be actually really hard to beat. Even with Kahun at 2LW it's still good

Sergachev is so weird to guess on though like he's got the offensive talent to get paid but his defending sometimes just ruins his value so yeah I probably lowballed him more than Cirelli tbh

Well they get a like 70% serviceable forward, could have thrown in a 4th or something just to insure it but looking at their forward depth, they can use any help they can get.

you know, as probably biased as it is for me to say this, i feel like more attention is going to be on the Islanders' RFAs more than Tampa's. Barzal, Devon Toews, and Pulock plus they have about as much as cap as we do and Barzal will fill that up so. Also players dont have to accept offersheets that come to them from other teams but I see what youre saying, I just gave them bridge deals tbh

nothing. no talks about palat leaving have been mentioned since he signed that extension. same goes with the other two, but i do believe next year johnson will be up for grabs for seattle since he's from spokane i think? so he would just be going home basically but that's all

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>hey, it could happen, tampa always seems to get guys cheaper than we expect, but to expect him to get less than stamkos...I think that's a stretch for the following reasons.
1. when stamkos signed, the cap was 71, now it's 81.5
2. stamkos was coming off a 64 point season. Nothing special. the year before that he had 72. The year before that he missed half the year. He hadn't put up a 90 point season in 5 years. point just had 90.
3. The league has changed, and the RFA's are getting paid paid paid.
I think 8.5 is a solid number for a 5 year deal maybe, but if he's getting max term, he's worth 11, and he'll probably get 9.5</div></div>
The report I saw on twitter said it's going to be exactly what you just called out. 8.5x5. Of course I'd love him to go long term and sign like 9x8 and really if the cap went up that extra million to 82.5 i think we would sign him for an 8 year deal but we've got so many questionable contracts in tampa it's hard to lock him up so I can agree with an 8.5x5.

i completely get what you're saying. thats why i think it ends up being 8 but that's also from a biased point of view and is what i'm hoping for so i'll get why if he gets paid more because he is a very good player in his own right.
