    That buys Henrique, not Vatrano

Indeed, like Elliot said, Pat isn’t going to just get rid of Frank, he is going to be expensive

Nah that would be a huge overpay for Henrique.
NY knows what Vatrano brings, unfortunately it's his career year, but he's really not worth a 1st either.

Lol.... yeah and nobody else agrees with that statement which is why he is still a Duck.
Not a 1st round pick equivalent.
Still a very nice winger, just inflated stats bc he plays for a bottom feeder and gets line1 and PP1 toi. He's a 2nd line player , being generous, ideally he is a 3rd line wing on a contender.
Good for Frank he's playing for the lowly ducks. He's reaping the benefits.

    Please elaborate..
Lindholm: 13-25-38 in 63gp.. traded for 1st plus
    Monahan: 21-23 -44 in 61.. traded for 1st plus
    Henrique: 18-24-42 in 60

Great, we’ll gladly keep Vatrano over a late 1st, zero issues there

I really can't believe you're going to put Henrique with Lindholm...Monahan, meh, did not view him 1st rounder level either.
Henrique is washed up. But a solid bottom 6 toward.
You've watched bad hockey for too long, your 1st line in Anaheim is like 3rd line for a contender.
Only difference, they are all clearly overvalued, found their way to Anaheim bc nobody else wanted them.

I’m sharing facts. You’re sharing opinions. I really hope you can do better. Here, I’ll share a few more facts. Then let’s give you a second try

I compared Henrique, an expiring UFA center to two other expiring UFA centers who have been traded this year, with whom he is either pacing with or outpacing in production. Both of those centers yielded 1st round picks and more. That makes them trade comps

Meanwhile, this supposedly ‘washed up’ center is:
    - pacing to 25 goals and 57 points (which would be good for 6th on NYR, outpacing Laf)
    - 53% FOW
    - +3 on the 3rd worse +/- team in the league
    - ^all of this in spite of starting 58% of shifts in his own zone
    - 17:30+ minutes per night without injury
    - 1st power play and pk (admittedly on a trash team)

He has never played on the bottom line for any club in his 13+ year career, which makes him middle 6, not bottom 6

Your supposed superstar Lindholm has been rumored to get flipped to Boston because his performance in VAN has been so bad

So please. Take your time, reeeally think about it, and enlighten me as to how a first round pick, less compensation than both of his two comps yielded, is a ‘huge overpay for Henrique’

    Lol... Anaheim 1st line toi.
Both a just players. You can pit all the stats ypu want.
Henrique / Vantrano are nothing more than 3rd line players. You best stick to your games on TV. You don't have many left.
Inflated # s because the play for a losing team.
    They are what they are.
Henrique washed up C, but solid bottom 6
Vatrano is a career middle 6, who's having his career year. He has always shot the puck a ton.

Those are not fair trade comps for Henrique, he gets more toi than he deserves and half as much as he will get with whatever poor team acquires him.

You should watch hockey, instead of burrying your head in analytics.

Got it. I thought you had in it you to make a big boy argument, my mistake.

    3rd line players:
I admitted both were middle 6 guys, not sure if you’re aware, but that includes the 3rd line. And has zero relevancy to him meeting 1st rd pick value, in fact, it further confirms it. Your ‘star’ Lindholm is currently.. a 3rd line center

    Inflated numbers
If you think playing on a garbage team inflates your stats, your lack of hockey knowledge is showing clearly. ANA is 4th to last in goals scored and 3rd worst in plus/minus. Sure, he gets a few more minutes a night, but that doesn’t offset a team that can’t score, except when he’s on the ice. He’s doing well in both in spite of team, system, linemates, and starting in his own end constantly. You’ve either never played hockey on a bad team before, or never played hockey at all if that’s seriously your take

    Washed up:
Point to one material thing that suggests he’s washed up. I’ll open the door wide open to you. And since you love opinions instead of facts so much, Here’s a scout’s from yesterday, who rates him an 85. By the way, Mantha just went for a 2nd and 4th as a 3rd liner who a) underproduces Henrique, b) is considerably worse defensively, and c) doesn’t have the positional advantage as a winger.

Repeating your opinions like a child doesn’t make you right. I don’t blame you for not watching ANA games, we’re garbage. But if you’d like to use your own methods of evaluation in the eyeball test, I challenge you to do so. If you’re willing to let yourself be wrong (which I doubt at this point), I’m all but certain you’ll see that

Either way, let’s definitely check in on each other after the trade lands. The floor of a return should be set with that Mantha trade, which itself isn’t even terribly far off of a late first
