Holy smokes you absolutely destroyed the oilers D core and this would quite possibly ruins our chances of winning this year this would be an absolute nightmare for Edmonton

He’s been very good in the ahl. Its tough to gauge value on goalies in the best of times gauging value of a prospect goalie even tougher. All I know for sure he’s trended upwards since being drafted and should be considered among the best prospects in the oilers system.

Barrie has been better than ceci in multiple recent playoff rounds. Similar to kulak Barrie has that extra playoff gear.
Both Barrie and ceci were signed by holland which one makes more? That tells me which one the gm thinks is better as well.

You admit to NSH getting the better player while also giving up a first then spend a bunch of draft capital on healthy scratches...
Where are we upgrading, why are we bringing Campbell back up, why are we wrecking the Kulak-Desh line?

I think so too. I haven’t really payed attention to Nashville this year so I’m not sure Barrie found his groove there or not but last season after the trade he didn’t seem to fit in as well as they may have hoped.

If you haven’t noticed Vinny has played with nurse for a couple games now. Coach K broke that up not I. It will be far easier to sell Campbell in the off-season if he plays some decent to good hockey down the stretch if he finishes in the ahl I fear buyout might be only option which will hurt even more with browns bonus. Barrie I think is better than ceci by a considerable amount however I’m acknowledging most fans on this site dont watch players often enough and just go with the narrative around their names. Barrie I saw take significant strides defensively since he joined Edmonton and by the time he got dealt last deadline I think of him as a far more well rounded player than he gets credit for. He’s paired with nurse before has had success it’s a nice combo nurse knows his role is defensive side Barrie will do the pinching and jumping into plays. When nurses game it’s simplified like that I think he’s far better more effective player.

It was tested last game vs. Pitt, which is something Knoblauch seems to do (test different pairings, normally done in case of injury to see who can shift where in a pinch).

I watch Nashville cause I like Carrier and hope that's who we get, Barrie doesn't match what Holland wants with Nurse and I don't see him as an upgrade on Ceci overall.
Also the Nurse Barrie line was pretty widely criticized as they didn't really compliment each others games; however, I'll respect your opinion.

If this is your view of what you want all the power to you, but there is some downgrading in many areas outside of getting Tank (who I wouldn't move Rodrigue for).

I see but hard to see Ottawa take this deal instead of a 1st from another team

I can respect the difference of opinion. I knew before posting this was going to get a lot of criticism for the Barrie move. I’m a fan of his always liked the way he sees the ice and sure might not be a stud defensively but I do think that part of his game has improved over the years more than most will admit. I can and do respect different opinions.
When it comes to Rodrigue my issue is being unsure where he fits moving forward with Edmonton. With the oilers swinging and perhaps missing hard on Campbell once that’s settled threw buyout or trade I think oilers will want to take another swing at solidifying the position leaving no questions around it heading into next year. Tough spot for a guy with zero experience. If we could get him in a few games down the stretch that would change a lot but I’m predicting they prioritize trying Campbell over Rodrigue due to financial commitment.

If Ottawa has or is offered a first I have not heard but they should take it. This is near my limit of willing to do so I guess oilers just check down to the next option. No hard feelings business is business.

Where could you hear that? Rumors are nothing

Mantha just got traded for 2nd + 4th and ahead of the deadline.

I have seen people expecting Tarasenko returning just a 2nd... it's comical at this point
