Imo, Dubas is overrated and impatient and benefited from unreal talent in TO. Though that never amounted to much. Sure the East is/was a beast but he didn't transform TO. He didn't elevate them. 'm suggesting he won't get incredible return for Jake that we see on these ACGMs.

I think VAN made the move early for Lindholm because they were scared to see Pettersson leave. At the time they traded For Lindholm, Guentzel wasn’t 100% available.

If I’m Boston, I’m starting to offer a 2ND ++ after what Lindholm did with 2 teams. Sweeney has all the leverage

Don’t think so. NHL Network proposed a crazy trade and EF said both teams would do it even if it was a LOT. It was VGK 1ST + Brisson + Edstrom for Jake G

The only way VAN doesn't get him is if vegas offers something truly crazy.
JR has no problem blowing the wad on a guy he likes.

VAN fans can complain all day, but JR as a GM is something to watch. He's either hitting a grand slam or going out swinging.
This right here is his VAN Kessel moment.
He gave up PIT best prospect and a 1st, 3rd and other stuff.

That was for a guy who ran himself out of TOR.
This is for a guy who JR loves and has been playing lights out the last few years.

JR is going to pay up to get him because he knows he's worth it.

No chance thats the offer - there is a reason why Lindholm is getting shopped 14 games after they traded for him. He's not a fit and is going to want a massive deal. Better off waiting until next year to sign him and not give up assets.

Only guy worth trading for is Hanifin if he's willing to extend.

Lindholm was a direct threat to Pettersson. That was the whole point of the move. Now that he's signed, JR can get the guy he really wanted.
