Why does Boston pay more than you paid for Lindholm?

they don’t? imo brz is a better prospect than lysell atp. debrusk is slightly better than kuzmenko. the firsts are close enough. van also gave up another pick and prospect in the lindholm trade, which accounts for lindholms drop in value

Bruz is putting up numbers in the OHL as an older player. Call me back when he’s playing against men as opposed to children. Lysell is more talented, a higher pick, and has a performance level in the AHL that labels him considerably less of a risk

If you view Kuzmenko as a positive contract, I don’t know what to say but my guess is getting rid of his contract was considered a blessing for Vancouver. DeBrusk retained should be able to get a nice pick. They aren’t even in the same ballpark.

Also, what’s the likelihood that Lindholm makes it to free agency now? I’d say it’s considerably higher. The offer without the first is probably a best case scenario for Vancouver

debrusk isn’t at 2million?

brz as a defensemen is putting up much better offensive numbers in his d+1 than lysell did with the giants in his d+1.

Kuzmenko wasn’t a negative asset imo, and he’s shown that since joining calgary.

Lindholm likely signs with whatever team he ends up on for about ~ 7aav

Hunter was also a 3rd round pick for a reason. He doesn’t have plus skills and was left of the US team because of concerns about his physical skill set, That isn’t a remote consideration with Lysell who performed in his first year in the WHL and his two years in the AHL. The best player on Hunter’s Kitchener (Pinelli) team last year is struggling in the AHL and Bruz is closer to him athletically than he is to Lysell.

Kuzmenko is a negative asset when he was traded. Name a team that was taking his second year without giving a plus prospect up

Either way, I’m comfortable that Lindholm makes it to free agency now and Boston has the cap room / need to sign him. They can wait. Just like Vancouver can wait for Guentzel

Frankly the offer with Debrusk and Lysell without the first and $850k retention is probably the max Boston should consider

Lysell is a better prospect than Brzustewicz...
