Leafs Dream Scenario

Created by: kuuuuuuuch
Team: 2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 5, 2024
Published: Mar. 5, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'm no leafs fan... definitely un-realistic but wanted to see how the Leafs could completely fill all their holes and turn the team into a contender. Focused on role players. Plus, why keep prospects when your trying to win now especially with players such as Matthews, Marner, and Nylander. I'm prepared to get roasted

This is bar none the worst offer for Eriksson Ek I've ever seen. Awful.

Just send Reaves to the Marlies. Nobody wants him. It costs more than Toronto should pay to dump him and his cap hit is mostly negated with his demotion.

Why would Buffalo do that? Kampf is garbage, they don't need him, they don't need picks, aren't taking cap dumps, aren't helping a division and franchise rival...

AZ passes - what is the market for 34yo 11m for 1 year ? not worth the unknown to give up 2 NHL players

Half retained so 5.5 mil for a veteran scorer

ok still what you think AZ gets for him? rebuilding teams arent looking for 34yo for 1 year and how many contenders have extra 5.5 cap space (and have good assets)

for AZ whatever the get is is it worth losing 2 decent players under good contracts (valimaki is RFA) and using 1 of 2 retention slots and eating 5.5m for what taveras brings in - I seriously doubt it

true but teams would be more open to receiving a guy worth 5 mil in the offseason due to more cap space. They could probably get some picks and prospects

still doesnt answer why does AZ wants to trade 2 decent NHL guys to get even more picks and prospects and eat 5.5m, i dont see making trades to get a guy a to then flip who the market might not be that high on as a worthwhile risk.

not saying he doesnt have value just not sure what would be and question wherever it is does it make it worth AZ to lose 2 decent guys and eat 5.5. its not like AZ needs more picks or non A prospects
