Once Lias Anderson is reat for 2C, Nash should be either already gone or able to be traded on a decent contract. So Galchenyuk can move to wing and let Anderson play center.

Also could do lines like:
Kreider-Zibanejad-Zucc
Anderson-Galchenyuk-Nash
Vesey-Miller-Buchnevich
Stanford-Desharnais-Grabner

I've already done this before and most people have liked it. Thanks for the feedback.

While you can argue that Galchenyuk has more "upside" than Hayes, their production has been very similar. He may have more value than Hayes, but the difference isn't so much that you can include a 2nd rounder in a deep draft year.

That being said, Hayes is no defensive dynamo, but Galchenyuk is worse statistically speaking and just as bad on draws. In essence, I don't see a major difference between the two players beyond AG's slightly higher ceiling and neither player is great in their own end.

I would move Hayes for something else if I am the Rangers, and make the play like everyone else for Tavares, leaving the 3rd Center slot for Andersson in the meantime.

Change Holden by Sean Day and its looking a lot better , Galchenyuk is a 30 goal scorer who's only 23.. He was at a point per game until he got injured last season, Bergevin would not move him unless the return is worth it

Hayes and Holden are good players, but Montreal is better off keeping Galchenyuk. Firstly he is only 23, loaded with potential, and already has a 30 goal season under his belt. Besides that, the possibility of Galchenyuk developing into a elite center is raised, as he is playing with a new coach and system next season. Also if he creates chemistry with Drouin, that can be one of the most explosive and lethal duo's in the league. Also, mtl doesn't need another Holden. They need a puck mover or shot suppressor who can play with Weber. Mtl needs a left D, and another center. Trading away Galchenyuk does mtl no good. Hayes got 49 points last season and was his career high, while Galchenyuk put up 44 points in a injury riddled season.

While I think you are undervaluing Hayes just a bit, I agree with your post. Why trade a 23 year old who has all this potential? It's all "IF's", and both Hayes and Galch may turn into mediocre players, but it still doesn't make any sense for Montreal to trade him without giving him every chance. Hayes is similar in this regard, but a bit older, this is his prove it year!

Not gonna happen. If we are waiting on players like AG and Hayes to prove themselves before trading them, the Rangers didn't draft Day only to trade him before they get a chance to see what he can do. This guy could become another Hedmen...or another Holden lol....all "IF's"

Now "IF" AG were a proven product...say multiple 30g seasons...then we could talk about blue chippers...

Galchenyuk has much more upside too. Plus new coach and system next season, so I am sure he will have an amazing season, and just hopefully turn into a full time center

Thanks for the feedback guys, I didn't think about AG's upside when I did this, just kind of off the fact that he was being shopped earlier this offseason.

Goodness. Staal in no way, shape, or form waives his NMC for Carolina of all places. Incredibly unrealistic.

And throwing Lias into the 3C role on opening night is irresponsible.
