I think Dubas would prefer one quality prospect over the low quality volume dump here.

Aman is a non-starter for me. If we are getting Guentzel, Mikheyev should go the other way.

My guess is he would ask for Lysell instead of the Boston number 1. I would based on his play in the AHL.

Curious if it makes more sense for Pittsburgh to take Grz and DeBrusk (2m retained by Boston) to get the possibility to get DeBrusk to $1M with retention from Pittsburgh. I would think that would have legitimate value

Not sure the player pick combination is enough for Guentzel

Well that's not happening unless you're paying to dump.

Bruins need to add a top 6 forward. Moving Debrusk for lindholm doesn’t really do much for them.

How is Podkolzin a low quality prospect? Definitely not an A but, somewhere in the B's for sure
Also based solely on Stats Dorrington could be a solid piece. Assuming he's a defensive defenseman, in 5 less games he doubled his points (not hard but still a good sign) tripled his plus\minus and forthed his penalty minutes that is a damn good sign

Yeah like mmcc said Mikheyev becomes a dump at that point adding to what Vancouver would need to give up

More along the lines of adding a center, also you could argue moving DeBrusk out gives Lysell a clear spot in the top6 if Boston choses to go that way

Because at 22 with his third full professional season he's still nothing more than an ordinary fourth line call up. And he doesn't dominate the lower league or really show major progression either. At best he probably has multiple years to develop as a long-term prospect. Most likely he'll never be more than an ordinary JAG. Dorrington has more upside potential by virtue of being 3 years younger, but again his best case scenario is probably a bottom pairing guy so another JAG. I'd prefer one high risk high reward prospect over a half dozen jags.

I think Lysell is worth more than a 1st rounder

Boston wouldn't and shouldn't retain in any trades it doesn't make much sense for them as they are competing now and would need cap space themselves

yeah Pitt might need more

Why Jake DeBrusk to the Canucks?
Who made this potential trade?

That sounds like Jared McCann to me

For every one of him there are 10 that end up being jags or worse.

Absolutely but, how many get the chance to play with Crosby or Malkin? I'm not sure how many teams are in on Guentzel but, I've heard it's either NYR or Vancouver. If NYR offer Kakko or Laf than obviously Pitt goes that way.
I could see Raty or Bains who's older than Podk but, I think Vancouver doesn't move Lekkerimaki or Wallinder without a long term predetermined deal which is unlikely

I got news for you, none of the Pittsburgh core 4 are close to what they were in their primes. Including Crosby. Yes they used to be such good centers that they could carry third liners in the top six. That is not the case anymore and is very evident when you start going through the numbers on the team or watch them play. They need elite wingers like Guentzel or at least high end wingers like Rust to be effective.

Iit wouldn't be carrying it would be assisted development. A guy might find his way easier playing with a guy like Crosby or Malkin and develop into a better player when they give him a more defined role and help him play to his strengths.
