Kings are VERY likely to reclaim Bjornfot. And since they're lower in the standings, LA will get him before Colorado. The question is whether or not anyone lower than LA puts in a claim.

I thought about that possibility but don't think LA will end up claiming him. I'm not super confident in that statement, but I see a situation where it's time for both team and player to move on. We'll see. I'd like him to fall to Colorado though. Stranger things have happened with players on waivers before.

I forget, does the roster limit go away when the deadline is over? If it does, I can totally see the Avs or Flyers pick up Raanta.

I believe teams can only make one waiver claim per day?

I'm 98% certain LA will. Similar to the ****emo situation earlier, they will get him if only to place him straight down to Ontario (if no one else puts in a claim) for LD depth, which they are sorely lacking right now. Plus they're trying to make Ontario a team that can compete for a Calder.

Lol on the censoring of a guy's name. How silly.

Didn't he clear again in Vegas though? I know he played games for their AHL team. If so, then I don't think LA can just claim him and stash him in the AHL.

I could be wrong here. I'd need to look at the transactions and the rules. I thought that was where things stood though.

Edit: He played AHL games for Vegas but no waivers were listed. Maybe it was conditioning or something. Regardless, my point of posting was that the team should put in a claim. If it works out, then great. If someone else takes him before it gets to Colorado, then it is what it is.

Possible but I'm not aware of that rule. Can't say I'm a waivers expert.

Correct, Bjornfot only played in Henderson for a LTIR conditioning stint. This is the first time he's been placed on waivers by Vegas.

And I gotcha. Not trying to rain on your parade, just letting you know it's not likely he gets through to Colorado. However, if you guys (or any other team outside of LA, for that matter) also puts in a claim, it means LA has to play him on their roster for essentially the rest of the season. If no one but LA puts in a claim, since he was theirs at the start of the year, they can automatically place him in Ontario. Weird nuances to the rules.

If he didn't pass through with Vegas, then that changes my opinion a bit with respect to LA claiming him. Not sure if the relationship has soured at all, but it seems possible they'll just move on. We'll have to see.

I actually like the waivers rules (or at least think they make sense). There will never be a perfect balance between allowing a team to have control over their players and ensuring guys aren't totally blocked, but I think what they have does help.

Shocked. Kings didn't put in a claim. Goes contrary to what most Kings fans have been hearing. Florida gets Bjornfot.

I'm just glad he didn't clear. Teams shouldn't be doing Vegas any favors.
