Do you make big moves in the offseason to load up again? Say the pick is 8-10 just wondering where you think they'll be next year. I'm sure it's at least a little consideration, but with this core should realistically contend for a WC spot next year I'd think.

The core didn't compete for a wild card this season, why would they be better next year?

That's what I'm kinda saying, if they don't make a couple of mid-major adds it might make sense to give this years pick in the top 10 as opposed to next years.

That's a hard call to make, they're potentially going to be worse next year. Think I'd rather give up a mid first this year then a top 10 next year.

Oh OK, then I agree with you, I'd rather keep next years myself.

Tough call. I think you gotta take the 1st this year and give them next years. Not just betting on yourself per se but if you've got a guaranteed top 10 pick take it. We really going to be worse than the bottom of the bottom next year and miss out on a 1-5 pick? Worst case scenario you lose a few spots, from like 9/10 to 6/7. Plus honestly would rather get a top 10 prospect in here so hopefully he gets called up sooner. If drafted this year and all goes well maybe 2-3 years after. If drafted next year and all goes well looking at 3-4 years later. Idk that's my thought. Take the bird in hand...

I prefer keeping the pick this year and giving up next year's because I want that prospect playing for the big team as soon as possible, and that's it. I'm not particularly concerned about the difference between a 9th this year or a 5th the next. I just want to get that ball rolling as quickly as possible.
