Description
Used Tankaton, this is NOT big board. There are reaches here and players dropping!
ROUND 1TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
1Logo of the Chicago Blackhawks-
Macklin Celebrini
San Jose
2Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-
Ivan Demidov
Arizona
3Logo of the Columbus Blue Jackets-
Artyom Levshunov
Chicago
4Logo of the San Jose Sharks-
Cole Eiserman
Anaheim
5Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-
Konsta Helenius
Blue Jackets-- (I assume they want another center. Taking back to back is bold but they need it plus they could then move Boone)
6Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-
Zayne Parekh
Ottawa-- Do they go Buium for defenseman or go for the right handed defenseman? How about Dickinson? This feels like where the first "reach" goes
7Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-
Berkly Catton
Montreal-- come on I feel like we all know if they do not get top 2 they are taking Catton
8Logo of the Washington Capitals-
Cayden Lindstrom
Buffalo-- gotta imagine they go forward no matter what
9Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-
Zeev Buium
Minnesota
10Logo of the St. Louis Blues-
Anton Silayev
New Jersey -- do they need defenseman? No. But this seems too good to pass up. I think more likely they ship this out
11Logo of the Vancouver Canucks-
Sam Dickinson
San Jose via Pit -- steal of the draft
12Logo of the Arizona CoyotesLogo of the Ottawa Senators
Carter Yakemchuk
St. Louis
13Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-
Nikita Artamonov
Seattle -- underrated prospect who will develop well
14Logo of the Pittsburgh Penguins-
Tij Iginla
Calgary
15Logo of the Nashville Predators-
Aron Kiviharju
Washington
16Logo of the Calgary Flames-
Trevor Connelly
Islanders-- Offensive upside could be lethal with Barzal
17Logo of the Detroit Red WingsLogo of the New York Islanders
Michael Brandsegg Nygard
Chicago via TBL -- drops a bit but tremendous value.
18Logo of the Winnipeg Jets-
Kamil Bednarik
Philadelphia -- center to replace Cutter
19Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the Tampa Bay Lightning
Emil Hemming
Vegas -- everything they touch goes to gold
20Logo of the Seattle Kraken-
Leo Sahlin Wallenius
Detroit
21Logo of the Minnesota Wild-
Sacha Boisvert
Nashville
22Logo of the Philadelphia FlyersLogo of the Los Angeles Kings
Liam Greentree
Kings
23Logo of the New York Rangers-
Igor Chernyshov
Leafs
24Logo of the Nashville PredatorsLogo of the Edmonton Oilers

Anaheim via EDM
25Logo of the St. Louis BluesLogo of the Toronto Maple Leafs
Max Plante
Carolina
26Logo of the San Jose SharksLogo of the New Jersey Devils
Tanner Howe
Colorado
27Logo of the Colorado Avalanche-
Adam Jiricek
Dallas
28Logo of the Toronto Maple LeafsLogo of the Boston Bruins
VOID
Ottawa VOID-- I think they can void this, right?
29Logo of the St. Louis BluesLogo of the Dallas Stars
Christian Humphreys
Rangers
30Logo of the Carolina Hurricanes-
Luke Misa
Montreal via WPG -- another center I know but I think they go after two, plus he can play wing
31Logo of the Colorado AvalancheLogo of the Florida Panthers
Henry Mews
Calgary via VAN
32Logo of the Vegas Golden Knights-
Will Skahan
Philadelphia via FLA

He's my number one choice but I'd be happy with Lindstrom as well, although I think he'll be taken before we pick.

For the Montreal via Winnipeg pick, Henry Mews would be a prospect Montreal would target, we may have drafted Reinbacher but our depth at RHD is still light. Hughes went the unpopular route last draft because it was what we needed, we still kinda need it.
Also Ottawa only has the option to void one of their own picks, not a pick acquired via trade. Nothing stopping them from getting a pick in the 20-32 range and voiding it to avoid losing one of their top 16 picks in the next 3 years.

If the Blues don't trade up and Yakemchuk actually falls to them at 12, yeah you can probably take that pick to the bank. That said, if Dickinson is also still available one pick before then, again a trade up is quite possible.

I agree. Would probably take Dickinson over most prospects in this draft, but would fret grabbing Silayev, Buium, Yakemchuk, or Jiricek in our pick range.

I would not even slightly fret over Yakemchuk and barely over Silayev. I love Buium, but he's only the right type to grab if Krug and Leddy are both gone or Faulk has been replaced with a capital D defensive Dman (such as Jokiharju, as one example). Maybe that's weird, but it's how I feel. Jiricek only concerns me from an injury standpoint, which is of course not nothing. If he can play Derian Hatcher to David's Kevin Hatcher, I'd be perfectly happy with that. The only one I want to pull out the cross and garlic for in that range is Parekh.

I do not want any timeline where we come out of this 1st round with Parekh. I think we can manage one of the other six. If there's any part of the team still operating in championship mode, it's the scouting/drafting department. They've been killing it since Jarmo arrived.

I agree that if Parekh is the best defenseman on the board when we pick something has gone wrong. At that point we honestly would be better off picking a forward and using our seconds on defenders.

Ottawa has to void one of their own first rounder so that doesn't work.

If Sennecke's still on the board at the Habs second first rounder I really hope they grab him, aside from Slaf none of our prospect screams top 6 winger. Gotta start taking shots at high upside wingers a little.
