Description
I really think perfetti on the top line would work with Connor and scheif, bumping villardi down would spread the scoring out even more and make our 2nd line gross. Also only signed sprong cause he’s cool. Do u think Rutger should jump straight to nhl or would dominating with moose be beneficial for him.

Probably half a year of humbling for mcgroarty and moose training, I wonder what Toffoli price is going forward, underrated goal scorer that has been missing since laine left. Will be interesting also what moose are ready to come up and help.

I'm not so sure Perfetti would work on the top line, maybe in the regular season but not likely in the playoffs. Honestly I think he should be a trade chip for a major defense upgrade.

Agreed, think his saving grace at the moment is price and team control, could see him getting passed on depth chart, with some of the kids coming.

I agree that some time in the AHL would serve McGroarty well like Copp and Connor.

Even if Michigan goes to the NCAA finals, McGroarty would have the chance to play an NHL game to burn the first year of his ELC. I could see the Jets using that promise to get him to turn pro (similar to Copp who played one game at the end of the 14-15 season). Then they can have him join the Moose for the AHL playoffs if they make it and/or tag along with the Jets when the Moose season is over.

He needs to improve his strength and speed. He is getting thrown around out there and it is only the regular season.

As of right now after the Toffoli acquisition and when everyone is healthy, Perfetti is a healthy scratch imo.

He was doing nothing on the 2nd line, wouldn't fit in the Lowry line and isn't suitable for a 4th line role, a Barron Namestnikov-Iaffalo line will likely be more productive and effective then any of them would be with Perfetti on the line.

I'm sure he'll be a good player but I don't see a long term fit for him in Winnipeg, would be trying to package him up for a upgrade on the blueline.

A little heavier petan, possibly biased but never been a big fan of his skills. Skilled offensive players better have a cannon if they aren’t fast, at absolute best a poor man’s nugent Hopkins, but that is probably reaching.

There is still time for Perfetti to fix things ike strength and speed. I remember one training camp Morrissey bulked up but admitted that he didn't strike the right balance and it cost him some of his mobility and speed, and ultimately a roster spot out of camp.

For sure, not writing him off by any means, just a little disappointed with the 10 oa pick and lack of production.

The only upside is that the Jets were able to be a bit more aggressive with the cap as Perfetti's cold streak probably means he will miss alot of bonus targets. This two month cold streak of 2 points in 20 games is brutal (he started with 29 points in 40 games).

I've heard he's kind of a pudgy little dude, he probably needs an intense summer of training and bulking up, needs to work on his speed too.

To Perfetti's credit he does try to drive past dmen to the net sometimes and goes to the corners/net front but he just gets tossed around more often then not.

The Petan comparison is a good one, neither guy lacks for hockey IQ, both are excellent passers, playmaker types but both are small, slow, sluggish skaters. Both were centers in junior but are converted to wingers at the NHL level, if the Jets wanted them to be centers they certainly didn't do a good job developing either in the AHL for that role. Both are too small and slow to be effective centers in the NHL.

Agree that skilled players better have a cannon shot or something that separates them from the rest like being super fast. I'm trying to think of a smaller, skilled winger who's more of a playmaker then goal scorer, Zuccarello maybe? A guy like Zuccarello is quicker, stronger and has more jam then Perfetti seems to.

Lots of interesting players got selected after Perfetti, wonder what us Jets fans are going to be thinking about his selection at 10th overall in a couple years.. 🤔

Holy **** what a drop off in production 😳

In lots of the TSN broadcasts of late Dan Robertson has dropping little tidbits about many of these guys going cold over quite a long stretch of games, not sure if he'd mentioned Perfetti though.

At least it will never be as bad as the first round of the 2015 draft that haunts some Bruins fans. Its a low hurdle to clear, but I'll take it. wink

I think Robertson made a comment about it after the assist Perfetti had on Barron's goal. Something along the lines if it being a simple chip into open ice but Perfetti will take the assist given his recent drought. It was a bit more nuanced than how I put it.

How crazy could that bruins team be, with Connor/barzal/chabot.
