Saros will cost more than Markstrom if he comes with an extension. As just a rental he'd be worth as much or a bit less than 2 years of Markstrm. But if Saros is made available it's practically certain some team will pay the price to get him with a nice long extension. Askarov won't be going anywhere, he still has another year left on his entry level contract and will be an RFA then.

Those three are worth more than any of the rest you named. Ulmark is the best of the rest you named but with only 1 more season before he's UFA he'd just be an rental. Would you really want to gamble on him or any of the other cheaper options?

Oh Ik Saros is gonna cost more than Markstrom. My offer for Saros is Holtz, Casey, Schmid, 2025 1st for Saros. The Devils would likely look to have an extension attached to a Markstrom deal

NJ has solved their goaltending question with the Allen and Kahkonen acquisitions.

Yeah I don’t foresee that happening. Even though goaltending is a need across the league, I don’t see teams lining up to pay for Markstrom

I don't see it happening either, they won't get anything better/more then they would've at this deadline had they traded him.

Actually teams have a lot more flexibility in the summer to add players, especially since the cap will be going up a fair bit this summer. More teams will be able to afford him meaning there'll be more than just NJ making offers for him.



I doubt that. Allen will likely be worse than Vanecek though he is cheaper. Kahkonen might turn out ok but he's nothing special. He'll likely have better numbers than he had in SJ but worse than he had in Minnesota.

I feel like if that was what Calgary would be willing to accept it would have been done before the deadline. I also think Calgary would target Holtz or Mercer over all of that. Now I don’t think they get Mercer but I don’t think I can see a scenario where New Jersey gets Markstrom and one of Holtz or New Jerseys 24 1st aren’t coming back.
