    Gotta think NSH would’ve kept Trenin at that price. Same with Carrier— I doubt he goes for that contract in a worse tax state on a much worse team.

    Fair assessment. The Sharks definitely would need to overpay either through salary or term to convince them to come to a bottom feeder. If they were to make bids like that, unlikely they get both (Carrier seems less likely).
