I say this as someone who likes KK, you’re at a luxury with forward depth and you’re sacrificing your Blueline to pay him that much.

I doubt Chatfield takes a deal like that unless he really likes Carolina. I want him to stay, but think somebody will pay him more.

Agreed, I originally had him getting 2.4 but had to bump him down a little to fit under the cap. That's the most unrealistic part of this for sure

That’s likely where they see him. Paying him much over $8M on a long term deal would be the opposite of what they’ve been doing. Maybe they offer him the Svechnikov deal, 8 X 7.75M, maybe not. Again, I don’t see them going much over $8M for him, if even that much.

There’s zero chance they’d be neglecting the blueline like that.

I doubt it's what they do either, but then again as I said in the description this is more just a jumping off point for discussing the Canes offseason fans. This certainly doesn't match what I would do if I were GM.

However, I stand by most of the contract values I gave. If we're bringing back Guentzel or Necas that is simply what they're going to get paid (or more)
