Next year with rebuilt D

Created by: TMLBRIAN
Team: 2024-25 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 13, 2024
Published: Mar. 13, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I would like to add a bit more size to our forward group, I am just not sure how, based on what we have. I love Robertson's hustle and drive, so I would struggle to move him off.

I really like this D group though. BIG and Physical and Deep.

Thoughts?

Lily?

He is not overly physical. But he moves the puck well and is a solid dman. This trade give Montreal the better Dman (with team control), but the Leafs get cap space and they get bigger and they get a mid pick.

I can see this type of swap working for both teams.

in principal yeah.

but .. montreal and toronto... we dont play well with each other.
we think they have wierd soft water that makes their players soft.
and they think they will get passed the 1st round

Last trade we made together was for Mr.Turtleneck at the deadline. I still find it a strange one to this day.

MTL would definitely take that
Love Kovacevic, but Liljegren has more upside and we can be patient with him. TOR get a solid bottom pairing dman
Outside of the trade, love the team above, great job
Gonna be hard to sign 2 top 4 RHD tho

I think it makes sense for both teams. Leafs get cap space and they get bigger and they get a mid pick. Montreal gets the better dman with team control.

The reason we would be moving Kovacevic is making space for Mailloux/Harris/Reinbacher. Adding another RD isn’t good

Liljegren will be 25 this spring, quite frankly there's not all that much runway for us to be patient with him with, and he's on the outs with Leafs fans for a reason
