Would you buy out Elvis

Created by: bf_hockey8
Team: 2024-25 Columbus Blue Jackets
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 14, 2024
Published: Mar. 14, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I would hold off on the buyout at least for another year personally.

Jarvis could be an alternate offer sheet target

Bruins make some sense as an option for Laine, strong culture there and could be a fit to play with Marchand/Coyle, retention brings him to a similar cap hit as Debrusk

Ummmmm....are we talking 5 years ago before Laine was even here?
Claiming that this CBJ team (or really any outside of maybe Laine's 1st year here) plays "physical tough playoff hockey" shows a complete lack of knowledge. Like, no disrespect....but just don't talk about things you clearly aren't educated on, because you're just making things up.

No we're talking all 5 years of his career as stated .
I presented Evidence via his results and how you interpreted them was Natural
"like no disrespect" but you chose not to make a point but to attack someones intelligence for fear of being exposed.
People with nothing to offer in Debates often resort to Flaming hence the Site's rules and the Admins Warning and Suspension system

You arent to target or Slander someones intelligence on this forum.
If Capable you can disprove them Walking the Talk and proving your words arent Hollow.
But if you're looking for an Insult Forum this is not that place, trust me.
I've got warned for doing the same thing.

If you want to debate fact i love doing that
But if you want to stoop low and slander someone without offering anything of intelligence yourself.
I feel you're gonna have a bad time talking to me as i study the rules whether it was Hockey when i played , Becoming a Butcher after i quit or talking on a Forum i honor those Guidelines.

This is a Debate Forum, Talking is the point.
You have no right to attempt to undermine that.
I you cannot keep up in a conversation anymore
The onus is on you to remove yourself from the topic as clarified to me by the Admins in a battle with John514 i believe it was.
Either way IF you want to Debate im game
IF you want to break rules leave me out of it , i aint angering the Admins over petty stuff

Per NHL Edge:

CBJ
22+ mph bursts CBJ: 80 League: 64 Percentile: 87th
20-22 mph bursts CBJ: 1,580 League: 1,299 Percentile: 93rd
18-20 mph bursts CBJ: 6,531 League: 5,794 Percentile: 96th

MTL
22+ mph bursts MTL: 75 League: 64 Percentile: 79th
20-22 mph bursts MTL: 1,461 League: 1,299 Percentile: 84th
18-20 mph bursts MTL: 5,944 League: 5,794 Percentile: 68th

Columbus is measurably one of the fastest teams in the league, so much so that Laine (who is below the 50th percentile in all those metrics) is actually one of the slower players on one of the fastest transition teams in the league. So, technically, you may be right for exactly the wrong reasons.

Yup but that isnt your system, its the advantage you have.
MTL wont play the physical game unless baited into it and when we are we lose..
Feel free to look that **** up

Like i said MTL's System is Speed based and its not capable of the style of hockey CBJ plays, at least not right now.
When we build a Dcore on size to put in the mix that Speed based System becomes more competitive.
Its a WELL KNOWN FACT since Mr gillette took over that our system changed and when Molson took over he kept it the same.
We hire Coaches based on their ability to Coach this way with the 1 coach who couldnt in Claude Julien screwing us the most by far
Why? He tried to make MTL play like CBJ and everyone failed or got injured.

You can be a fast team because you got a few fast additions but they have to play within your system.
For MTL its the opposite where we can have a Xhekaj as long as he's not a liability in Transition

I wish we had your system it makes more sense
But the reality is MTL is all speed with Size to anchor them on the back end.
No matter what build you look at or which run you bring up thats the dynamic for 22ish years now

But lets say thats not the case
My Point is Laine needs out and to a team that can use his style like COL,VAN or MTL where Speed is part of their Core Identity, Heck even CGY would make sense.
But CBJ goes Through Teams , Not Around them
