Ritchie probably isn’t ready next year, and don’t need Martinez with Malinski and Behrens(probably), don’t need Talbot with Annunen, and if Landeskog starts the year on LTIR that’s probably it for him. Don’t know Walker takes that deal but sure.

Agree Walker is going to want more money and years and that if Landy isn't ready at the start of the season, that's probably it.

If they go eight years, I think they can get Mitts down to $6M per. He's never scored more than 60 points and his deal probably shouldn't exceed $48M in total compensation.

His contract could be tricky with the expected increases in the cap, Mikko can sign an extension this off season too which will be very interesting because he will be in the Pasta area.

I agree it may not be easy but the guys he was playing with in Buffalo that got paid and scored more than him aren't over the $50M total compensation. I could see going up to $50M which is $6.25Mx8 so, still affordable. And if they structure it the right way and Mitts delivers, if they have to trade him down the road, that would be a very tradable contract. I recognize the cap increase changes things a little but it won't do so to a great degree at this point. I think in any event, they're going to have to trade someone to get some room somehow; my vote is Manson while I know others prefer trading a winger.
