Matt Roy might very well get 6M per year from a contender let alone a rebuilding Ducks team.

Possibly. Will depend on what the cap goes up by I guess.

I'd probably pay it. Yes, Ducks are rebuilding, but Matt is local to ANA and so the move would save him from uprooting his family. He may prefer that than chasing a cuo. Not that cup chasing wouldn't be possible in ANA. ANA are probably strong contenders in 2-3 years with Celebrini.

Doubt many contenders will be able to offer 6M to a top 4 RD if that is all the cap is going up by. Most are overspent as is and with significant contracts due on other players. Namely the reason he may be available from LA as they've got Byfield to re-sign.

Many other teams very desperate for a player like him as well. Buffalo, Ottawa, Detroit as example. Could easily see them putting in a high bid.

Sure, but are they really in a better position than ANA? I mean they aren't contenders. Again, Roy may prefer a move to a team just coming out of rebuild and that is local to LA to save him from uprooting his family. He's been in LA a while and I'm sure has settled in. If the value of the contract is the same than why not ANA?

Even Gretzky got traded, but he would be in the top 3 most untouchable players in Anaheim.

There's multiple ones available this off-season (Pesche) and some of those teams are largely spent up or made other plans that limit signing a long term deal (Buffalo just got Byram, Ottawa is capped out and need to extend Chychrun, or trade him, Detroit doesn't have the cap to be tossing around either.

I would personally send Zell back to the AHL until Fowlers deal is up, he really needs some time to round out his game.

Good idea. I think I prefer that actually. That would help shelter Minty a little longer and mean he can develop alongside a true RD. I guess we keep Lindstrom as 3RD then and give Luneau the 20 or so games in order to ease him into the league?

Agreed. He's a tricky one though. I'd prefer to move him to LW and move Z back to 3C, but McT has had such good chemistry with Vatrano and Strome. Also, he's solid on the dot. He needs to work on his D and perhaps next year is the year he focuses on that. Being a 3C role would provide him more time against some easier match-ups for him to develop those skills... I think that is probably the best way to play it, but I am not a coach.

Always like how he plays. Very hard nosed type of player (at least from what I’ve seen). I’m a football player, never played hockey so maybe I way off lol. I like how he just works out there. Agreed on the defensive side, but most younger players tend to need work in that department (again I could be wrong). What’s the word w Z? I’m in NJ, close to PA border and all I’ve heard is how Flyers may try to trade for Z and reconnect him w his bf, Drysdale. I don’t get to watch Ducks a lot, but I’m impressed w those young guys. They have a ton of talent to put together a solid team for years.
