New Jersey would be attractive for Brady for a few reasons besides the actual team. His wife is from New Jersey, she’s having a baby right around beginning of the season (she’s gonna want/need help…family close by), obviously the Hughes connection and cousins w Fitz. But if BT does ask for a trade, Sens control everything…they don’t have to trade him to a destination of his choice. Columbus def has more to offer than NJ. I do think something happens, if not this summer than during the season unless Sens start winning

This is the type of proposal the Sens would be looking for. This will probably make it happen. Again my thoughts on Brady are he’s fed up, tired of losing (granted CBJ ain’t winning lol) he’s told Staois and Andy, it’s now or I want out. I also think the hiring of Green may have sped that up for BT. I don’t know if anyone who’s a fan of that hiring. Small sample size but it doesn’t look good. I agree Sens need a HC who will hold them accountable and work their asses off, but you can’t just ride these guys and expect them to buy in. It’s going to be another interesting season in Ottawa. My personal opinion, Devils really make a run for Brady. Could see CBJ doing so as well because they def have pieces.

Think you need to add at least Casey in there and remove Daws. Sens have a few young goalies, what they need is an actual starting goalie. Daws wouldn’t be doing that for them. Think Sens would need to consider that proposal for sure. People will say that’s too much but Sens aren’t trading him for nothing. Like you said, Devils need to blow them away.

Why so angry? We all know it’s bull****, calm down. But the truth is, Brady ain’t happy right now and Staios knows it. Of course he’s gonna tell everyone Brady isn’t going anywhere, they’re building the team around him, etc etc. Brady has had enough of the losing and all the other bs with the organization. There are talks out there with him going elsewhere, that I know. Jersey being at the top of that list. Sens obviously don’t want to trade him, but if he’s at the end w the organization the best thing to do is trade him now.

Go get Brady from Ottawa.
Tkachuk for Johnson and Jiricek
Jackets will still be able to draft one of the top D man in this years draft to replace Jiricek. Getting a player like BT is what would help immensely.

What needs to happen to get this team to the next level
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SupremeBone</b></div><div>I think they committed to exactly the wrong kinds of players to carry them forward by locking up Dubois and Fiala. I think they can still have a competitive team mid-to-long term so long as:
1.) Byfield emerges as a C and can take over the 1st line with Kempe
2.) Clarke develops well enough to ease the load on Doughty
3.) Moore-Danault continues to be effective as a line
4.) They change their team identity to allow for more offense
5.) Portillo emerges as a capable starter for them even in a more open system
I think it would have to be a lucky UFA or trade acquisition that would help push them through to the next level, though.</div></div>
Think if they put Fiala on the table, Kings would be able to get a solid return? Or is his contract/age too much? He’s not that old, but he’s past that age for teams rebuilding.

What needs to happen to get this team to the next level
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>At this point they would have to trade so many guys to make them a bottom 5 team and I doubt the league would be happy with them intentionally tanking.
You got so many bad teams right now, and on top of it you got teams that are crashing down to reality in NYI, WSH, PIT.
You aren't going to get worse than those teams crashing in the next 1-2 years.
They just have to play it out stuck in the middle for a while and hope for the best. Too good to not finish bottom 5 and not good enough to really compete for a cup.
But you never know maybe they get lucky in the draft. It is what it is. That's what happens when you rush a rebuild. But I'm sure it didn't help that ANA and SJS both crashed down at the same time.
I'm sure the league didn't want all 3 of those teams sitting on the bottom.
All I know is it's a rough world in the west right now, you got McDavid, MacKinnon, Petterson, and a VGK team that constantly manipulates the cap to give them really good players all over but no real franchise guy.
That's a tough place to be. Hard to win against that.</div></div>
I agree with ya…def a very tough conference to be in right now. **** ton of talented teams out there and then you have Vegas doing what they do, I’ll leave it at that w them. I watch the Kings and can see this team being one of those top teams in the West, but then there are games where I’m like, “just start rebuilding…” there’s talent on that team, no doubt. Good young talent at that, but you also have guys who just don’t fit. I’m a big Kempe fan, think he’s been one player who keeps getting better and better each year. I actually think there’s more to his game…I think he can be a 100 point player. Now I’m an East Coast guy, I don’t see many Kings games, but from what I have seen and read, the guy has all the tools. I love that he’s a physical player but also has skill to score, pass, play defense…and flys on the ice. Anyway, thanks for your comment…this is one team I’d like to see get over that hump.

They rushed themselves into mediocrity.
In 2020 they had it right finishing toward the bottom. They should have stayed there and built up.
But I guess not everyone can be on the bottom.</div></div>
Let me ask you this…should they consider trading Kempe for some younger players/prospects/picks? Possibly Danault? Gavirkov?

Mitchell needs less pressure
Pressure will always be there in the playoffs. He just doesn’t have it. Great player, tons of skill, can do just about anything with the puck, but winning mentality…ain’t got it. You gotta be able to turn it up come playoffs. Flip that switch as they say. Find that fire inside. He doesn’t have it. Happens to a lot of great athletes in any sport. Great during regular season but come playoffs…nope, ain’t got it in them.

Exploring a Marner Trade to Get a Cup in NJ
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NorthernLeafsFan05</b></div><div>Would you say this about Matthews, who has similar success in the post season? It's unfair to judge Marners post season play in a vacuum, because every single Toronto player disappears in the post season. These are pro athletes we are talking about, it's not like they just phone it in when the regular season is done. The issue in Toronto is behind the bench, not on the ice.</div></div>
Hahahaha my apologies, I didn’t mean to upset like that. I know they’re pro athletes, the great ones turn it up come playoff time…that’s what separates them from the rest of the pack. And you can add Matthews to that as well…another who disappears. The problem is on the ice, on the bench, front office, etc. My personal opinion, they need some players with some nastiness to them. Guys who will do whatever it takes to win. They don’t have that. Bertuzzi would be the closest one. No, not the best at anything, but will give everything he has inside him to win. Matthews and Marner, nope…they’re way too talented not to show up in the playoffs, but reason why is cause they don’t have that “fire” inside of them. You know who they need, Brady Tkachuk. I know Leafs fans will tear me apart for saying that, call him a crybaby, etc etc…you can’t tell me that guy doesn’t bring it every single night. NHL needs Brady in the playoffs.

No team will ever win the Cup w Marner on it. Complete opposite of what you want come playoffs. Does not show up at all. Soft ass little baby. Leafs need to trade him as soon as their season ends.
