Description

in this instance we've traded ullmark to give some wiggle room. i could see them keeping him again for the season but if there's value out there i think they may do it.

in short i don't think Bs have the roster spots or cap to sign a Hanifin and Lindholm. do they even look at a lindholm? does he offer more than Coyle in the 1C spot. I see EL really as a 2C option which we have in coyle. maybe they need a trade partner for a 1C. also with the play of Lorhei I'm not sure they pursue a Hanifin type anymore for the LD...

Doubt that rebuilding PHI is giving up futures for a 31 year old rental goalie.

he's not really a rental, they get him all year and if there's a fit they can resign him.

They already got Ersson and they are still rebuilding despite their success, so there's no reason for them to spend assets for 31 year old Ullmark who probably doesn't care to stick around and would just block Ersson.

I call any player on an expiring deal with pending UFA a "rental." Moreover, Briere sold at the deadline despite being in a playoff spot. I fail to see why they would dramatically reverse course in four months and focus on building a contender. Makes no sense.
