Sweeney should be fired to the moon if he signs Lindholm to that contract.

Sweeney has been one of the best GM’s in the NHL over the past few years. He would have won the best GM award last year if not for the stench of Mitchell Miller. What he’s done this year is even better.

I believe he’s going to sign Lindholm to a premium contract. It’s a risk and will be based on confidence on how he’ll fit within the system next to Pasta if he does it.

If he has the draft capital that he has during the Hampus Lindholm deal, it sure looked like Sweeney was trying to recreate the same situation with Elias. He tried to acquire him from two different teams this trade deadline and Friedman specifically stated that they wouldn’t trade for him without knowing he was coming back.
