Minor critique - there is no way that I'd bring back Smith and MacDermid. I think there are some UFA targets that can aggressively forecheck without the liability brought on by having these two knuckleheads on the ice (Trenin, Duhaime, Lafferty, etc).

Devils accept. That Pettersson portion specifically is a 100% good.

Imo feels like an underpay on Pettersson, overpay on Jarry, so it evens out.

If Pittsburgh would prefer a 2025 1st+3rd or lesser prospect instead of holtz they can have that as well.

And you’re not a devils fan so the rest isn’t as in depth but I’d go after a Trenin and Foegele down the left side instead of Blais and Zucker. Get some speed back with Foegele, and some size, grit, PK ability and defense with Trenin

No one is trading for Cal Foote. His skating sucks and his legal situation is worse.

He addressed this in the Nolan Foote adjustment.

I think Smith is worth bringing back as a scratch or even in the AHL just in case of injury. his contract should be completely buriable tho
