Description

Montreal could offer sheet a couple of guys this summer to finally have some top end talent and not overpay somebody like Zegras. A 1st, 2nd and 3rd is a lot but if Montreal can stay healthy next year, they can compete to make the playoffs and lose a pick in the 12th to 16th range +2nd and 3rd. They got Calgary's 1st, Pittsburgh 2nd, and a couple of 3rd so they can still draft in the rounds that they gave up. Maybe Byfield isn't the best player they could get but LA have some cap issues and getting a big guy like Byfield would boost that offense. Having Slafkovsky, Byfield and Dach all 6ft3 and plus in the top 6, could really make a big impact on the team. I would love it to happen but I think LA would find a way to match that offer IF Byfield accept this offer, it might not even be enough to sign him. (I also took the time to edit the lines for a preview of next year)

Very Possible as Kings need to provide offers to Kalieyev, Turcotte, Lizotte, and Byfield and they need to resign Victor A and Matt Roy.

No CAP to do all of this. To match this offer sheet Kings would need to not resign Victor A and Matt Roy leaving GAPS in the lineup

Not enough for LA to consider letting him go.

As it's been a few years since a Montreal GM has done this, they would be willing to give up a shiny new Dubois for a defensive prospect! That always works out well for the Habs!

Arvidsson has played like 5 games this season, and Matt Roy might be a casualty anyhow. The priority is to get Byfield done, ideally to a longer contract.
