That Konecny deal is gonna kill this team. He plays like Gallagher. He's not gonna hold up much longer.

maybe, but I feel like he's got at least 5 very good years left. He is a bit bigger and has not had many injuries, only like 1 real injuries in his NHL career

I LOVE the player, just worried about him holding up.

tbh there is probably more that makes konecny effective than what made gallagher effective (admittedly my memory of prime gallagher is quite spotty)

TK is a great playmaker (honestly his best ability imo) and can score from all over. the edge he plays with is a bit of a concern, but on a 6 year deal i wouldn't be too concerned

If the edge is not a concern, then Philadelphia would be incredibly foolish to let him go. He's almost a perfect player today.

tbh trading him is probably the best case for them. he want 9x8 for an extension and they already have an overabundance of wingers. moving him for a dman or center would probably be better for the future than keeping him on that contract

Barron would be an alright depth add, but isn't worth a high 2nd plus. He's waiver eligible next season and can't earn a top 4 spot on a bad team, so has minimal value to a playoff team. A 3rd or 4th straight up should do it.

Hardest position to fill in Hockey. He still makes the Habs lineup next year, so if MTL doesn't get that 2nd, I don't see him being traded honestly. I also see the possibility of him being be part of a move-up deal, so we can move up spots with the WPG pick using him

Bottom pairing defenseman is actually extremely easy to fill. Top pairing RHD, which Barron isn't close to being, is hard to fill.

Using him as a throw in as part of a larger deal is probably the best bet.
