Your rationale for the Blues trade is flawed. The Blues do not want out from under Kyrous contract. If Kyrou is in your mind a cap dump, I don’t know how you could rationalize a trade with Chabot coming back. The value in general is equally as bad as the fit. We already lack secondary scoring. And we lack RD depth.

I could see an Ullmark and a prospect like Merkulov for Chychrun with extensions for both players. The question is whether Ullmark will waive for Ottawa in exchange for an extension at his peak value.
