why would the rangers do that? theyre trying to win now and trading laf for the 6OA(ish) takes away a top6 winger and adds a player who won't play in the NHL for atleast 2 years

Laf has a shot at close to 60 even strength points. at under 4m for next season, thats an insane value.
Unless the starting offer is the 1st overall pick, and a top 6 roster player (which is a big overpay), theres no reason for the rangers to make that move.

I know Armia and Dvorak are Canadian cap dumps which of course makes them much more valuable but they wont disappear for a couple of busted prospects
