Description
[FOR THE READERS]

1. 2024 NHL Draft
- RHD Levshunov would be my pick at 3 if that is where we land. 2nd pick in the first round would be RW MBN if he is still available.

2. Free Agency
- I'm not sure Reinhart will leave Florida but he is a guy I would like to the Ducks to target. Also signed some other reserves and RFAs based who I think would make sense. Also was just ballparking contact values for RFAs and such based on feel. No rumors or statistical projections. Just vibes ya know?

3. Trades
- Did not spend too much time on getting the value right. More so wanted to highlight the teams that I think would be the prime candidates to take Fowler and Gibby. Fowler is from Michigan so I could see him joining the Wings as they enter their new playoff window. Gibson on a healthy Devils team would be a great fit IMO.

- Again, not trying to say the values here are exact so don't get too offended. Retention on Fowler is to help fit him on Detroit's roster and we should have the cap space to not worry about it for 2 seasons assuming these moves happened.

4. Final Thoughts
- I like this lineup. Young forward core all together should be fun to watch. D core without Fowler would be very young but a lot of promise there too. Reinhart is kind of a pipe dream but PV did mention he wants to add another top 6 forward so why not go for the best available? Dosty is the starter with Dave Rittich there to be a solid back up/mentor.

Cheers to anyone who read all that. Go Ducks!

wings decline. They would rather get an actual RHD player via FA and not trade Berggren

Detroit passes, No room for Fowler. Plus we're not trading Berggren for a LHD that's on the wrong side of 30.

A very intelligent and realistic strategy, whether or not we can succeed in trading Fowler and Gibson for a reasonable return. (Personally, I'd like to see them retire as lifelong Ducks, but Gibby may play out more years than his current contract so he'd have to go somewhere else.) You must be doing something right when the worst things that I can say about your construction is that I would re-sign Isac Lundestrom and I'd rather have Sam Carrick than Trevor Carrick.

I personally think the bigger need this off-season is to sign a defense first RHD like Pesche to a 5 or less year contract to be Mintyukov's running mate.

Asking Gudas to play top line minutes is going to be pushing him too far. I also know Verbeek is high in Luneau, but I think he could stand some time in the AHL. Both because we need to stop bypassing out young players straight from junior to the NHL, we need to build a winning culture from the ground up, and that starts in San Diego, and two, because Zellweger Luneau would get murdered as a pairing.

I would target Pesche, Roy, or Hronek, and run them, Gudas, and Lindstrom down the right, our system relies on a lot of north south movement in the offensive zone, which is difficult for a Damn on his off hand. Hell, I'd even take Risto off Philly's hands if they want to move on from him, he's been a good defensive D for a little while now and his contract is no bother to us.

With a stronger defense Gibson will bounce back in a big way, with Gudas and Lyubushkin on the roster Gibsons GSAx was up there among the top of the league. Now that Bush is gone, Gudas is on IR, and the season is lost his stats have plummeted.

Fowler on the other hand looks completely cooked, I want him off this roster at this point, every time he gets called to step up he falters.

Yeah I would personally be ok with not trading Gibson if we can improve team defense in front of him. I am a believer that he is a great goalie who has had to deal with a bad team in front of him for the last 5 years. Trading him would more so come from him asking for it if he desires a move. A Fowler move could be hard to pull off but I agree that he looks extremely disengaged.
