Second Chance Sharks

Created by: Letsgosharks
Team: 2024-25 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 30, 2024
Published: Apr. 2, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just run the High end prospects in the AHL and have a good AHL team
or their respective leagues

Taking quick one year deals on younger players looking to rebound to hopefully sell at the deadline or who knows, find a new home in San Jose? lol

Couture would come off LTIR to hit cap floor, this is assuming his injury is still too bad to play as it is a very very long term injury

WAY too much for Sturm… he would not get more than Liljegren.

I have no rebuttal besides the fact that it seems like every Buffalo ACGM that is posted with a Sturm trade its either a 3rd+ or a 2nd.

I like where this is going. I would change up the lines.

I would keep Peterson down. You are way under paying Kunin.

I don’t like bordeleau playing center. I think I resign carpenter vs Bailey to have a 3c.

I take it you send G Smith to the AHL or he got claimed off waivers?

G Smith is listed under "Non Roster" if you look at the long term outlook so it looks like he's in the AHL.

I definitely agree on Bords, he's looked much better since settling in on the wing.

With regards to Kunin, his QO is 3M so he'd likely take that if he's signing for 1 year and the Sharks don't need to save by signing him for less. That said, I could see a situation where he takes a bit less so he can be traded easier to a team that isn't terrible since the Sharks can't retain.

Lighting it up in the KHL sharks didn’t really give him a full chance, I don’t believe that he will come back for San Jose, but I believe he was willing to come back for other teams, he’s not gunna be a top 6 guy, but could be a very solid middle lineup guy

I also do not like having bords as center but I did not really see anyone else being able to play it.

Jack Studnicka might be able to fill in for awhile. I would not risk development fo Bordeleau by playing him at C.

Kunin is a gritty 3/4 liner to me. We just have him playing to high and it shows.

Fully on board with you there...I asked in another thread why so many people seem interested in having him for their teams. I do see him being re-signed by Grier unless we can get some better players so Eklund can play with someone who can finish his set-ups.

Hopefully with some cap space, and 3 picks in the top 33 + 2 more first next year we can fix that!

I’d say the almost for sure long term guys are smith musty zetterlund eklund and whoever is drafted in the top 3 by us this year with bords on the cusp and maybe guschin

I’d love to see Edstrom and bystedt play in the US

Good news! Bystedt made his AHL debut tonight and he had 2 goals and an assist!
