Frost is close to untouchable at this point, could see Philly doing this with Farabee though

Unfortunately for the Flyers yeah. They've already committed a ton of money to the wing and have Michkov coming, and Tortorella has treated Farabee like the odd man out despite the fact that he's our second best winger on a great deal and like the only natural LW in the organization.

I'd bet they'd try to use him to land a bigger fish before making a deal like this, but if not I could maybe see them do something like this

I see too many Buffalo proposals trying to trade Samuelsson which gives me red flag vibes.

"Tortorella has treated Farabee like the odd man out" I don't get where that sentiment comes from other than what Torts occasionally says to the press about his play. Farabee's ice time has stayed around what a top 6 winger should get and he hasn't been scratched a single time this season, altough he has been benched couple times.

If you want to move a winger because they have commited a lot of money in to them already, then Konecny should be more available, since he is a RW which we already have a lot of and he will need a significant pay raise.

Kinda like mittelstadt, a combination of things made him available. Buffalo has 5 nhl left shot d- dahlin, Byram, power, Samuelsson, and Ryan johnson. Dahlin and power have been paid, Byram likely will get paid next. Samuelsson is making just under 5 long term. Not sure how much you wanna invest on defense. Samuelsson is defensive- minded and big, but not particularly physical (I don't care what the scouting report says), he uses his length to poke check as much as anything. The Sabres would be wise to round out their all left handed puck moving core, with a couple physical defensive guys, preferably right shot ones. Samuelsson looked really good covering for dahlin last year, this year was rougher. I can see moving him if it makes sense, there's plenty of gms that would take him. So to me, the fans are recognizing that maybe paying him 5 million long term isn't great, and they penalize him for having a down year and being hurt.

If they wanted to move Konecny, rebuild or not they'd be out of their minds to give him a letter and fail to move him at this past TDL only to trade him in the summer. It's also been fairly well reported that they have every intention to extend him pretty much ASAP on July 1st.

They just gave Tippett an 8 year deal and they adore Foerster. Their best prospect is a winger. They've alluded multiple times over the past year that they're still getting an idea of who's going to be in and who is going to be out long term. There deployment and treatment of Farabee has been questionable at best at times in the past, to the point where Farabee himself was really unhappy at the end of last year.

I should be clear that this is pure speculation on my part and not something that's been reported, but the more I think about where this team is going the more I think he'll be the guy they use to try and make a big move if/when that time comes, and I think that could be as early as this summer

Just saying that if they would want to trade a winger because of money, it should be Konecny rather than Farebee.

I don't see anything questionable about Farabee's deployment. He has played in every game so far and has been given top 6 minutes. I could also make the same arguement about Frost in this case, since he has been scratched multiple times this season.
