Hawks Young Blood

Created by: Duggysdanglers
Team: 2024-25 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 4, 2024
Published: Apr. 4, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
RFA deals are just to show prospects in the organization. Other than Vlasic.
Hawks have several decent D prospects but could still use a top flight RD. Should they take Levshunov in the top 5? Demidov and Bedard would be super sweet to watch for the next 10+ years together.
That TB pick is a wild card. Expect several risers and fallers this year.

Sam Rinzel will go back to MINN with Moore, but I absolutely think Rinzel can be a top 4 RD maybe even top pair RD. He'll certainly get enough time to develop natural as the 2nd pair RD while Seth Jones plays his contract. BUT yes to your point the RD position is quite thin. I agree with that.

I think Kantserov and Lardis both have a chance to stick top 6 at RW, and while Levshunov is a great choice at RD, i still think nobody else that we have in our system (other than Bedard) will be as dynamic as Demidov and we cant pass on him if we're sat at 2 overall

I don't think Levshunov should be a target with a top 5 pick. I do agree that we need more RD depth, but we can get that in the late 1st and 2nd round. There are also RD in future drafts, we have Rinzel on the way who is looking like a stud, we have Murphy for 2 more seasons, and Jones for 6 more seasons. So, there really is no urgency to use such a high pick on an RD. I also don't believe that Kurashev, Reichel, Nazar, and Moore, are locks for the top 6. I think CHI still needs too much work in the top 6 and should be looking at Demidov or even Lindstrom at 2nd overall. If those aren't players KD likes, for whatever reason, then he should be looking to trade back.

I like Demidov for F in the top 5. He and Bedard would light it up.

Yeah. Same here. I was on the Lindstrom train for a while, and I still like him a lot, but I think he is going to fall on a lot of rankings with his performance since returning from injury. Not that he has been bad, but he definitely hasn't been as dominant as he was earlier this season. Plus, Demidov has just been tearing it up offensively. He didn't miss a beat coming back from his own injury. I'd still be fine with either, but I think I'd like to see a Demidov-Bedard duo more so, at this point, and I probably have Demidov solidly at 2nd overall in my own rankings.

Cannot have success in the NHL without a dynamic offensive duo.
