not that it's a bad trade value for NYR, but it's incredibly short sighted. They won't be able to keep Mangiapane as Laffy/Miller/Shesterkin are all up that year, and Kakko can be resigned very cheaply long term (for which has upside).

This makes sense... CGY can give the guy ice time and while they're not really competing can give a good role player the other way...

Similar to when NJ traded Coleman to Tampa Bay
