The more I watch Ottawa play the past month I am now of the belief that Ottawa needs to find a taker for Chabot and keep Chychrun, if he is really intent on re-signing.
The return on 72 will not be great but it is what it is. Get Chychrun a good stay at home RD partner and I think he will excel next year.

Literally what I want but everyone thinks Chabby should stay lol. Chych has looked bad because he's been paired with god damn bums since he's been in Ottawa.

But the only thing is if we keep Chabot he's only going to play half the season, plus Chychryn is better.

Sanderson is better than both

Silayev is definitely better than Parekh in my opinion. The only 2 things are that he's a LD so the Sens aren't in need of his position as much, and he's russian, so he likely won't even come to NA for a few years, not to mention the Sens would have no control over his development.

I like helenius as he is a right handed center plays a 200 foot game but probably ends up a winger. I see him a a safe pick as his tool's translate to the NHL better.

Sure we do... If he comes with an extension or an agreement to sign one soon after the trade. He'd be perfect to pair with Andersson or Weegar at RD.

What would you give up for him?

Mangiapane+ you might even get Andersson for Chychrun+ but a Chychrun extension would have to be part of it. Without an extension it's not worth giving up even just a late 1st for 1 year of Chychrun when we won't be contending.

Make it Chychrun extended + Grieg and I'd be fine with sending Andersson + a 2nd or a B prospect in return.

Edit: Actually considering Mangiapane will be a pending UFA next year too Mangiapane+ might be possible without an extension as long as the + isn't too much extra. Calgary might even be willing to retain salary on him. But Ottawa probably gets offers they like better from other teams who are confident they can extend Chychrun.

What about Chychrun with extension and Boston's first for Andersson and Calgary's 2024 2nd

I think Flames management likes him too much to trade him for any reasonable offer. I'd be pretty happy with a mid 1st and a half decent center prospect/player or something equivalent but the team probably wants more especially if there's retention on Markstrom.

From Ottawa I'd probably ask for Grieg + late 1st/early 2nd.

Yeah the Sens don’t move Greig for 2 years of a 34 year old goalie. That’s how u kill a team. It’s not like we are all in and just missing a goalie to win a cup and have a strong propsect pool
