Look at the Ottawa Senators; Do you want to be the Ottawa Senators? If so, rush the rebuild...

If not, keep drafting and gradually become better and better

Wdym rush the rebuild i literally just signed Arvidsson on a 1yr to have a top6 winger to play with bedard and Martinez for leadership

So you’re telling me tu run back the same team for back to back years.

Ana signed Gudas Strome Vatrano in FA

Det signed Copp Compher Gostisbehere in FA

and I signed Arvidsson Martinez and Ned… It’s called having assets. You need bodies and develop..

I'm saying build slowly... Chicago has good prospects throughout the system... Sell off guys like Hall and Ant next year to gain more draft capital and allow the rookies to make the NHL...

Signing a backup goalie a 36yr old Vet mentor Dmen and a top6 foward on a 1yr deal is slow.

Donato Ant and Hall should be all gone by TDL.

Both on a combined 7 million dollar contracts,

With only 2 retention spots... 1 has to be used on Hall

Kyle_Davidson thoughts on this ACGM?

Not a bad projection at all. Of course there are some things I would do differently with unrestricted free agents and RFA contracts, but a solid projection if the hawks goals are to plug holes short term.

I like the Arvidsson signing for what it is worth
I dislike the Martinez signing
I would go longer term with Vlasic since we can afford higher AAV right now.
I would think Lukas Reichel gets a 1 year deal.

There are some ideas here that I think should be corrected
- Lindstrom will need time to develop before playing in the NHL
-Nazar will likely spend a year in he minors
-If the hawks sign a free agent D it will likely be a RD who can help develop Korchinsky.
-The hawks will probably not bring in a goalie unless they move on from Arvid.
batman liked this.

Legally speaking they have to hit the cap floor so don’t be surprised to see some overpay on short term deals this FA.

Then why not take on 1-2 year cap dumps, we've seen how well it's worked out with Jason Dickinson

I would, but the other teams fans keep telling me that their players don’t have negative value and yada yada.

On a real note it’s probably not great for the culture to be other teams dumping grounds. At least you can control the type of person you bring in FA.

Take on 1-2 1 year cap dumps, win the lottery and trade 2 retained at TDL... Do the same thing next year to get Bedard's cousin if you aren't #SlackinforMacklin and away you go, aim ofr everything to come together 3-4 years from now with all your bad contracts expiring
