No chance. There is a substantial drop off in players after about 15. They likely rather just add the quality player at 14 than drop back. Maybe they have interest in Harris or Barron outside of a deal like this but likely they just draft players to full those holes.

There is a strong chance Jiricek falls to 23 and getting 2 young D with upside plus a needed 3rd to move down seems like a massive overpay and sharks should seriously consider this

If Yakemchuk and Parekh get picked before that sharks pick I have to think this becomes a serious consideration with the hope Jiricek falls to them

Personally, that's not really a overpay. We can also Dvorack and you send to us somes low picks.

Harris value is a 2nd and Barron can be a low 1st round pick.

Dvorak is not a piece we would pay anything for, Sturm is similar but much cheaper

I wouldn't risk Jiricek falling to 23, too many teams needing RHD. Adding two depth players and dropping down doesn't seem worth it. If Sharks want Harris or Barron, trade for them separately. They have a few more years of being bad and getting able to trade players for picks and gain depth in the system. They should take every opportunity to get the highest quality players they can now. I know they traded back in 2022 but I really think they should keep the highest quality picks they possibly can. Yzerman did it a bunch and it really bugged me as some quality players got drafted between the original pick and the trade can pick.

I agree! If anything I want to trade up for Parekh or Yakemchuk
Man if Sharks got Celebrini and Yakemchuk they would be in really good shape

I really want Detroit to trade up but if Catton falls but I doubt he falls enough if any.

Not an overpay? Seriously? It cost the Yotes 2 2nds to move from 27th to 11th just 2 drafts ago. That would equate to Barron who has late 1st value, so we are just gonna throw Harris and a 3rd in for free to move up 9 spots from 23rd to 14th? Who do you think Hughes is? Santa Claus?! Habs aren't doing that, if we want to move up to the 11-15 range its only gonna cost the equivalent of 2 2nds or a late 1st.
