    I don't understand why Hagel's cap hit had to be that high on a max term extension. At the time of signing he didn't have an extensive NHL resume and his production didn't warrant that cap hit. I understand the value of locking him up in his prime years, I just think they could have gotten him at like 5M instead.

    Hagel is 8th in the league this year in even strength points. That alone makes him worth that contract. On top of that he is one of the best defensive forwards on Tampa and the hardest forechecker and worker on the team. Very much worth his cap hit next year.
